PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) – A group of women fundraising for children with disabilities is holding their annual fashion show virtually Thursday night, and it will be the last of its 66-year history, according to the event’s organizer.
the Easterseals Women’s Auxiliary Virtual Fashion Show starts at 7 pm with a countdown from 6:30 pm The theme is “A Whole New World,” with five stores, highlights from the past and a fashionista showcase featuring the children of Easterseals.

Organizer Helen Chadwick said she raised more than $ 1.1 million over six decades for Easterseals. She said the fashion show, which last saw 1,000 attendees, will evolve next year into the “Circle of Giving”, a breakfast and dinner series “with many features of the original show” in October, February and April. Each event will showcase an Easterseals family.
Chadwick said that while the events will be smaller, their mission will remain the same.
“In the future, we want to continue giving back to children, and this is really the tradition of the auxiliaries, we just want to help support the children and families who receive services from Easterseals… We will always keep in mind fashion show going on, so it will be an exciting development next year, ”she said.
