Sheboygan Dance Team Wins World Hip-Hop Title

A Sheboygan dance team was recently named the Hip-Hop Dance World Champion. Team victory means more than the right to brag. “(We are) a dedicated and loving family and friends,” said Dollhouse Dance Factory deputy director Betsy Klauck. Girl group Sheboygan worked hard to get through a unique dance season during the pandemic. “Last year we were three weeks away from going to Dance World 2020 and it was canceled due to COVID, which was devastating,” said studio owner Kayla Pittner. The devastation turned into dedication for the coaches and dancers. The team finally performed a few weeks ago in Orlando. Nyla Spicer said she didn’t just dance for herself but for the Dollhouse ensemble. “We had a lot of seniors on the team who couldn’t dance last year, so not just we were dancing for them, we were dancing for the seniors we had this year and the coaches,” he said. She said. Passion, great team spirit and hours of practice led them to a big win – first place in senior hip-hop category. “We all hugged each other after hearing our names, it was such a magical feeling, “said dancer Jessie Domurat. It was a touching victory, but the lyrics and dance steps also spoke to the hearts of the dancers.” I think my favorite part is when we go around the world around the end because it was an emotional move for everyone because in the song it says “don’t give up now”, “said the dancer Emma Wiroll It was the fifth world title for Dollhouse Dance Factory.
