Rebecca Minkoff presented her second NFT fashion collection for Crypto Fashion Week
Crypto Fashion Week 2022 (March 18-22) is an event for global digital fashion and NFTs that “celebrates designers as artists, fashion as sovereign self-expression and avatars as avant-garde in this chain revolution”. CFW hosts panel discussions and conversations about fashion in the digital space and unveils the latest fashion NFTs by digital designers. With the start of CFW 2022, fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff launched her second NFT collection “The Dunamis”, which focused on dressing up avatars in the metaverse.
The NFT drop has been available on the NFT dematerialized fashion market since March 18 and offers four virtual looks: “Athena”, “Venus”, “Aphrodite” and “Persephone”. The Greek Goddess theme pays homage to the New York-based fashion brand, offering exceptional outfits to wear in the metaverse.
“Our second NFT collection is the reflection and embodiment of the Rebecca Minkoff brand, representing who we are and who we will be in the future. It’s a fantastic re-imagining of our seasonal designs, amplified by the distinct iconography by Rebecca Minkoff. It’s a way for us to celebrate our past, while continually looking to our future ahead of us,” reads the fashion brand’s official website.
Minkoff’s first NFT collection debuted in the fall of last year, and all of the digital wearables, priced between $60 and $600, sold out in nine minutes. The fashion designer saw a lot of potential in luxury items in the Metaverse. She also believes that NFTs will “transform the entire fashion industry in ways we can’t imagine”, not only allowing users to dress up their avatars in the metaverse, but also allowing instant fashion looks on Instagram photos.
“There is no physics. So the weight of an item of clothing, like a jewel-encrusted dress that would weigh hundreds of pounds in the real world, could work in the metaverse. When we had a chance to imagine, we said “Why not be fun, it’s fantasy, there are no rules, let’s play and explore,” enthused Minkoff, speaking of fashion in the metaverse.
