Joe Cordina kicked off the stroke of his career by stopping Kenichi Ogawa in two rounds with a superb right hand. The fight is over before it even begins and there are absolutely chaotic scenes in Cardiff as Wales celebrate their last world champion.

The Manchester man was desperate to show people he belonged at this level and he removed any doubt with the best performance of his career. Barrett will now focus on tonight’s main event as he looks to clinch a world title. The scores were 120-108, 119-109 and 118-110 in favor of Barrett.

Dalton Smith impresses again

Sheffield’s Dalton Smith recorded another stoppage victory by forcing Mauro Perouene to stay on his stool at the end of round six. Smith was in control throughout the fight and after dropping Perouene at the end of the sixth stanza, the Argentine’s corner decided to end the fight. Smith is ready for bigger tests.

Nicolson makes it 4-0

Australian Skye Nicolson went eight rounds for the first time as a pro with a dominating win over Gabriela Bouvier. Nicolson was in charge from the start and her authority was confirmed at the end as she was put back on the referee’s scorecard every round.

Yafai returns in style with stoppage win over Cairns

Gamal Yafai ended a year of frustration and inactivity by stopping Liverpool’s Sean Cairns in four rounds. After losing his European crown to Jason Cunningham last May, Yafai was eager to prove he still had plenty left and he did so insistently as he was too strong for Cairns. After dropping his opponent in the third session, Yafai ended things in the next round.
